Classes.. Cases.. Classes...

Please read the title once again.. Its Classes.. Cases.. Classes and not Classes... Classes.. Classes.

I had just two classes in the first two days of this week and there was not much pressure since they were the very first classes in this term. But from today onwards its very different. Professors started giving us cases and expect us to come prepared especially in strategic mgmt. Mam expects each and every one to come prepared and also expects to have some analysis done on the same.

We have spreadsheet modelling course in which we will be learning VBA. This implies that I will be coding again :)). Though it is on excel sheets, I just want to learn it. I find excel is the most important weapon for any manager to finish-off his tasks at a faster pace. I understood this very much during my intern. I found one funny thing in this class - the way the professor is trying to teach us. He is just spoon feeding us and even then half the class doesnt get the desired output. Count me in that :)) - Managers trying to do coding. I hope this class makes managers understand how difficult it is to do coding :)).

In service operations mgmt class, prof was giving us an example how different people thinks.
He showed us two pictures.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Picture 1:

A lady daily serves a dog with a cup of milk.

Dog thinks this way " this lady serves me a cup of milk and helps me a lot. She must be a God"

Picture 2:

A lady daily serves a cat with a cup of milk.

Cat thinks this way " this lady serves me a cup of milk and helps me a lot. I must be a God"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an awesome way to tell how the same scenarios are interpreted in different way.

Today is damn hectic in terms of number of classes that I attended and especially the afternoon class.

By the way, I again started playing TT and its awesome. I am playing for an hour per day. Though I have lost most of the games that I played, but most importantly "the burning of fat" is the factor that I am targeting :)).

For tomorrow's classes, we are suppose to read two big cases and be prepared also :((.

I have observed one thing in this term - the frequency of usage of video files while teaching. It has gone very high and I am loving it. Its a bit away from traditional method of teaching and refreshing too (if the video is interesting).

In tomorrow's class, prof would be showing us a 80 min video - the unconventional truth. I am eager to see how unconventional it is.

Well, there are few comments in my last post

@Arina - Europe is recovering from the crisis and may please for this time leave them. Since you are powerful trigger rains in Lucknow.

@Stari - I just dont want showers instead a cyclone. I must spend atleast a day opening the gifts.

Thats it for the day....
