Are all men born equal ?

This was an interesting question raised by our prof in Human resources class. Initially he told what was the opinion of two great philosophers - Nietzsche and Rousseau. Then he asked who supports "all men are born equal" and then he asked who doesnt support. He divided the whole class based on that and then asked us to counter each other's arguments. It was funny.
People started arguing. Our class CR, for twice, took so much time in explaining a fact and finally came to a conclusion that contradicted his own team's stand. Prof also started laughing at his conclusions.
There was a question on "how to define the equality first of all ?"
Prof came up with an interesting equation too

A person's life is carved based on = "person's character + environment + error term"
I may be wrong in writing the same equation.. but the essence is the same.

Amogh, our class topper, has raised a question. "Sir is it addition or multiplication ?". Oh my god, I could not stop laughing at all. Its such a "dash" doubt. Even now I am laughing.

In between, Isaac started asking doubts. "Sir I am totally confused. Can you explain me what is free will?". I enjoyed this class a lot. But at times it was boring.

The whole class was confused when prof started discussing about the animals like lions, elephants which are socially developed. Prof said that higher order feelings like donate, help the poor, sympathy etc etc are being taught to us rather than being developed on our own. This was a very heated discussion. Amogh, Isaac and others dint agree. It went on...

But now again the same question.. are all the men equal ??

On the flip side...

Anurag, Priyanka and I were so lazy to move from our places. We dont know which one was our stand. We simply stayed back at our places and so our stand became "All men are not born equal !!".

By the way men refers to mankind !!!
