There enters the new batch....

Now I am Senior.. Be careful...

Finally the whole batch of juniors is here. Though few additions and subtractions may happen (may be very less in number). Seniors are also getting ready (to guide the juniors :)) ). I am no way nearer to that guiding part and so I dont want to write more about that.

I am so afraid of juniors because of an incident that happened during my UG. I was with juniors till mid night (dont ask me what I was doing) and the last junior who left the hostel was caught by warden and then guess what happened ? I couldnt sleep properly for the next three days and then it was normal. But one thing was sure, the warden did not forget me and the incident. Almost two years after the incident, One day, I came late to the hostel after missing the bus and he was standing before the hostel questioning each and everyone who came late. After seeing me, the first thing he told was "You are the one whom I questioned two years ago in relation to the incident XYZ right?". I was shocked and dont know what to answer. The supervisor by the side of him told that I was not that person. Again I dint sleep properly for the next three days and then it was normal.

Today I have slept almost 12 hours and still I am feeling sleepy. Sunday should be replaced by Sleepingday in the calendar. The most happiest incident that happened today is going to dastarkhwan restaurant. Biryani was awesome (cannot come nearer to the great hyderabadi biryani). Though the restaurant is small yet so many people go to that place just because of taste. Here is the link about the restaurant -

Thats it

Happy Birthday Teja....

Today is Tejeshwar's bday. Many Many returns of the day.

He is considered the cool dude of our batch :) and he is really.

He was the one whom I can ever remember for one reason - the sound tracks that he suggests as background score for the videos that I used to create. Of all the videos that I have shot during my stay at PEC, I hear one comment in common - "background music was awesome". Thanks Teja...

Once again Happy birthday Teja...I wish you all the best for all the works you take-up this year...

I am missing other person's name here...

It is Sudheer (Source FB). Happy Birthday Sudheer..

Sailing in the middle of a sea....

For the last two days, the life has become so mechanical. The classes are routine. As it is I am not listening.

The level of laziness has increased to a stage wherein I am least bothered to open the polycopies (and not even in the mindset to read it). I am going to classes just like that and listening to what other says. When I was listening to others view points in a case discussion, at times I feel that others are speaking nonsense. I hope they too feel the same if at all I come-up with some views on any case. I think it happens with everyone and its the mindset that is prevalent and always thinks "I am right" (or a biased opinion). These days I am seeing this type of incidents very frequently in others' cases.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a particular incident that had happened in my class wherein the prof was discussing about the point "how users add value to LinkedIn?".

One of my classmates started explaining - "Sir, imagine Sachin Tendulkar has joined the LinkedIn network then others get attracted and finally joins the network. Here user Sachin has added value to the LinkedIn."

Immediately the other classmate told "Sir, If Sachin has joined LinkedIn, that doesnt mean that he will accept my friend request."

Hearing this dialogue - half the class started laughing. I felt a bit confused and pity for the fist one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now this incident can be viewed in different ways. I dont want to discuss much about this as few may think I am biased.

Apart from my boring life, there are so many interesting things happening in the college. I would love to write that but few restrictions had tied my hands. But I would certainly write about that with in few days. Seriously friends its damn interesting because its one of the most hot topics on this earth - politics.

Today in promotional strategy class, Mam was talking about sales promotion and advertisement. She showed us some ads. The below mentioned ad serves the basic purpose of brand awareness. Have a look at it.

Thats it for the day....

Can I call it an useful framework ???

We see so many frameworks in our classes and some are useful and some are just random.

Normally they are just if else sentences written in a 2 x 2 matrix or 3 x 3 matrix but profs give them so much importance.

This is a very useful framework developed by my friend Gopi. :)))

I was impressed when he first showed me this frame work

If you have any doubts, you can ask me. I will try to explain :))

Classes.. Cases.. Classes...

Please read the title once again.. Its Classes.. Cases.. Classes and not Classes... Classes.. Classes.

I had just two classes in the first two days of this week and there was not much pressure since they were the very first classes in this term. But from today onwards its very different. Professors started giving us cases and expect us to come prepared especially in strategic mgmt. Mam expects each and every one to come prepared and also expects to have some analysis done on the same.

We have spreadsheet modelling course in which we will be learning VBA. This implies that I will be coding again :)). Though it is on excel sheets, I just want to learn it. I find excel is the most important weapon for any manager to finish-off his tasks at a faster pace. I understood this very much during my intern. I found one funny thing in this class - the way the professor is trying to teach us. He is just spoon feeding us and even then half the class doesnt get the desired output. Count me in that :)) - Managers trying to do coding. I hope this class makes managers understand how difficult it is to do coding :)).

In service operations mgmt class, prof was giving us an example how different people thinks.
He showed us two pictures.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Picture 1:

A lady daily serves a dog with a cup of milk.

Dog thinks this way " this lady serves me a cup of milk and helps me a lot. She must be a God"

Picture 2:

A lady daily serves a cat with a cup of milk.

Cat thinks this way " this lady serves me a cup of milk and helps me a lot. I must be a God"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an awesome way to tell how the same scenarios are interpreted in different way.

Today is damn hectic in terms of number of classes that I attended and especially the afternoon class.

By the way, I again started playing TT and its awesome. I am playing for an hour per day. Though I have lost most of the games that I played, but most importantly "the burning of fat" is the factor that I am targeting :)).

For tomorrow's classes, we are suppose to read two big cases and be prepared also :((.

I have observed one thing in this term - the frequency of usage of video files while teaching. It has gone very high and I am loving it. Its a bit away from traditional method of teaching and refreshing too (if the video is interesting).

In tomorrow's class, prof would be showing us a 80 min video - the unconventional truth. I am eager to see how unconventional it is.

Well, there are few comments in my last post

@Arina - Europe is recovering from the crisis and may please for this time leave them. Since you are powerful trigger rains in Lucknow.

@Stari - I just dont want showers instead a cyclone. I must spend atleast a day opening the gifts.

Thats it for the day....

I got the gift !!!

Finally I got the gift. This gift is with reference to the post - http://praveentheruffian.blogspot.com/2011/05/whats-there-in-that-gift.html

It was a t-shirt. It had a quote too.

My friend went to UK and all I got was this lousy T-shirt

That was a good one and I liked it.

Thanks Anvesh

Now its sandesh's turn ;)))

BTW, Arina went to Germany. She went to Japan and now Japan is in a worst state.

Its Germany's turn now :(

And it started this way !!!!

Back to college...

Its been a long time since I have scribbled. Though I missed my blog but its a deliberate attempt.

After feeling the heat of corporate life for two months, we are back to hel'L' to feel the student life for the last time.

I wanted to give a gist of how different it was when we reached college last year....

-----------------------------------------------
Last year :

Indigo flight was scheduled to depart at 10.05 and my father accompanied me. There was a kind of tension in his face. I was little worried on how to go ahead and thinking about how it would be.

This year:

Indigo flight was scheduled to depart at 10.05 and this time its me alone. It was like taking a daily bus to a near by place. No tension no worries.

------------------------------------------------

Last year:

Though I knew that there were bunch of people who were about to join in hel'L', but I remained silent and dint talk to anyone.

This year:

Around 10 - 15 people whom I know were in airport. Most importantly, Raghu was also travelling. The funniest part is he got the seat by the side of me :))).

-----------------------------------------------

Last year:

After reaching airport, I alone came to college by a taxi and I paid around Rs.600.

This year:

I came along with three more friends and we all paid only Rs. 500 :))). (My share was 170)

-----------------------------------------------

Last year:

When I reached college, I dont know where to go and everything was new. The initial process of room allotment itself took around 1 hour.

This year:

The whole registration process took less than an hour :)))

---------------------------------------------

Last year:

When I reached my room (in first floor), I just had two bags of luggage.

This year:

When I reached my room (in second floor), I just had two bags of luggage. But already more than two bags of luggage ( 80% was books) was inside my cupboard.

---------------------------------------------

Last year:

After unpacking the luggage, I was eager to know how the campus was and wanted to see how the food tastes.

This year:

After keeping the luggage bags unopened, I started sleeping and dint feel like going to mess.

-------------------------------------------

Last year:

When I was going to mess, I was desperate for friends and wanted to make few.

This year:

I went to mess with my friends.

----------------------------------------

Last year:

On the first day, I slept at 11 pm.

This year:

I slept around 2 am after watching a movie :))).
