A "good bye" assumed to be "bye"

It was all about 20th Jan 2010..... It was a day I could never forget. I just wanted to press a pause in my life right at this point and never wanted to go ahead.

Tomorrow and day after tom are holidays... I am planning to fill my blog with atleast 10 posts... :))...

When will I change??

For the first time I am gonna get a zero in the quiz. After every end term exam, I see my marks and come to a conclusion that If I do well in quizzes, I can get good some grades. Though I realize where I am lagging, I am not able to win over that situation. Today I had FM(finance) quiz. I read something, something that evaporates from my brain in seconds. When I saw the paper, I was puzzled. I couldn't understand the question at all. I felt ashamed. I took around 10 mins to understand what is the question. But the situation is even worse that I dont know even the basic formula. When I question myself why am I not doing well... The answer is just because of "the skills" that I possess and that others do not. I dont know how to write here and I need to hide this for some reasons. I couldn't concentrate in the classes also. Time to think for a solution.

Coming back to classes...

Generally in In SCM classes, prof speaks about general things and sometimes topics that are not present in the text book. Today when prof was discussing about a topic, Navin all of sudden asked prof "Sir, are these topics available anywhere in the text books??". Everyone started laughing and even prof also started laughing. Then prof has come up with a counter that Navin couldnt answer. I was solving a case in SCM class and so couldnt concentrate on what prof was teaching.

In MIS class, I was sitting in last bench and playing a game in mobile. Prof saw me and asked "who is the guy hiding in the last bench?". I raised my hand and told "Praveen, sir" :)). Then the class shouted "synapse guy.. synapse guy". Prof immediately told "Don talk about synapse. Its because of synapse there is a big mess up in the class regarding presentations". I immediately thought of replying like this "Sir, its because of synapse atleast the intensity of mess up is reduced". But I thought for a while and dint open my mouth. Actually today a group is suppose to come up with presentation but they dint. There is an application called claroline, developed by team synapse, where we register ourselves in different courses offered in that term. Our prof asked us to update the information about presentations there. But there was a mess up in updation and for that we cannot blame synapse right ? :(. Life is like that and we cannot blame anyone.

Tomorrow, Jan 20th, is an unforgettable day in my life....

Normal Day....

I slept at 5 in the morning and got up at 7 AM...

Everyday we are suppose to submit a writeup on the case that will be discussed in the class. Today is my turn to submit the writeup from my group. Yesterday night I read the case but felt a bit lazy to type the summary. Morning I got up and first finished the writeup and then started working on extra currics... Actually one of our class toppers, nishtha got selected for "The Next CEO" competition and she is suppose to come up with a 2 mins video about leadership. I was helping her in editing the video. I will share that link soon. I dint apply for that competition and now I am feeling bad about that. These days I am not participating in any competitions as my hands are tied by synapse work. Day before yesterday, Team Synapse conducted a technical quiz and I designed the application for the same. It was a good experience and I learnt few things related to management that I cannot write here :). It seems my seniors in team synapse are not happy with our work :(. Tomorrow I will come to know more about that. I could be a possible target :((((.

Again marketing class was very interesting. It was about "communication" in marketing. Today there is a clash between vivek's group and alok's group on who has to present the case. It was Alok who went to the dais first and so his team presented the case:). Prof asked an interesting question about the weight of Lays packet and number of people who notice that. Except Abhiram, none of the class knows about it. Next time onwards, I will start noticing these minute things. In HRM class, there was a group activity about induction program - how to do it and who has to do it. In FM class, I was doing the editing work and so couldn't concentrate on what prof was telling. Tomorrow we have a quiz on FM. I still dint start my preparation.

@Arina.. Hey u asked me to mention about my marks in Accounting subject(last term)... I got good marks and I stand in top ten (only in this subject :(( )....

I am feeling sleepy...

Updates 1

Its been a while since I have written a post with label Life at IIM Lucknow....

In this term the subjects are so general. We need to be "muggus"(who mug up 24* 7) to top the list.

Marketing class seems to be interesting day by day. The cases are so practical and prof covers almost all the areas when dealing with a case. Today, prof talked about flextronics which was a dream company when I was studying at PEC. I was feeling sleepy and couldnt concentrate on what prof was telling.

The next class was about HRM. I will write more about the prof in next posts. This class as I mentioned earlier is so general. But prof comes up with sitcoms and I really should appreciate his "verbal" skills. He asked a question on citizenship behavior for which shilpa started answering. Everyone started laughing at her answer. Prof too had a smile on his face. She stopped answering seeing everyone's reaction and prof raised his voice and told "go on.. amuse me please..". Again the whole class started laughing. May not sound funny when reading here but it was. :). Today I noticed one thing that I never thought.

Prof mentioned few lines about our education system this way "every one says our education system is not so practical. We just by-heart the things. Every one just criticizes. But they fail to answer one question. If our education system is impractical, then why do Indians do well in every field and stand among the best ? There are few things that people need to by-heart for sure and should be remembered for ever. For example if a doctor is in the middle of a surgery, he cannot say that he will google to find out what to do next !!!!. " Really an interesting thing to notice.

FM class was a bit boring and the lecture was about stocks. I couldn't understand the concept as I was absent for the previous class. A lot of probability was involved.

in management.. we learnt a concept called holistic marketing..its all about understanding the customers. So in order to understand the customers first we need to put ourselves in to their shoes and find out what exactly they need. Similarly I have come down to your level trying to understand how it would be if another monkey wishes you. Now, from your comments, I understood that you are extremely happy. I understood your requirements. Thanks a lot :))

First post in Year 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR ........

This year has started with a big surprise.. a surprise that I never expected..

On the flip side..I havent recovered from the teeth pain... Still Half of my tongue is numb.. :(

I will write more about it in my next posts...

Day before yesterday I landed at the campus. There is hell lot of difference in the climatic conditions to that of hyderabad. I was shivering when I first got down from the train at Lucknow and the time was 10 am. I was wondering how it could be during nights. As expected, its worst of all. Yesterday, I heard that the temperature dropped to 2 :(. The problem is that it is making me even more lazy and I am just sleeping all the time. Already, I bunked 3 classes :(.

Yesterday we had HRM (Human resource mgmt) class and it was so funny. The professor was CAT convenor :). He talks continuously with out any interruption for one and half hours. It was good to listen his classes but at the same time I felt its too general. Though the topics are general, but they are dealt in depth. The class was too interactive. There were many jokes during the class. Ofcourse those were all sitcoms and I cannot explain it here. But inorder to sit in his class, I think I should have knowledge on the past events, especially about the philosophers :). I really hate to know about the past :(. The next subject was about Finance. I had few bouncers in this very first class and I tried very hard to understand those concepts.

Today we are suppose to have a class at 9.15 on supply chain management and Prof dint come.

I got an ideal time to write the blog.
